Listen To Your Eyes



Eyes are the mirror of the soul. Eyes are the mirror of one’s health too. With eyes many diseases can be diagnosed .
In ayurveda while prakriti (body type) of patient is determined eyes play major role in it.
Taking care of your eyes
The eyes are considered to be the most important organ in our body and yet, people neglect to care for them.s
·       Protect your eyes from dust, smoke, strong sunlight and strong wind.
·       Do not stare continuously, specially while looking at long distance

·       Do not wash eyes with hot water or immediately after coming from heat or sunlight
·       Avoid reading, writing in insufficient light
·       Blinking is natural and necessary reaction by eye lids.
·       Appropriate and regular exercise like Tratak improves eyesight and eye strength


·       Rub the palms of both hands for about 30 seconds, close the eyes and gently place the warm palms over the eyes.this is called ‘palming’, a good eye relaxing practice
·       While bathing fill the cup of your palm with clean water blink your eye 10-15times in it . practice it for both eyes
·       Honey, trifala, haridra are some of the ayurvedic herbs that are good for eyes
·       Regular pack of cotton soaked in cow milk or rose water reduces irritation , burning ,fatigue due to strain on eyes
·       Ayurvedic treatment ‘netra basti’ is recommended for various eye disorders

·       Ayurvedic medicated eye drops for allergic irritation , redness proves beneficial
·       These treatments should be done by ayuvedic practitioner . Do not hesistate to consult your doctor even for minor complaints of eyes.

It is said that the vision is important not the eyes, but for vision and sight ……….HEALTHY EYES !!!
